Fisher Stevens Joining Ugly Betty

Is Betty moving out again? That’s what the following is indicating to us…

Short Circuit and Early Edition star Fisher Stevens is joining Ugly Betty recurring role of Mr. Z., Betty’s new landlord.

The role is said to call for Stevens to be dry and sarcastic and that the producers were looking for a “New York actor who could go head-to-head with America Ferrera.”

Good call? Anyone you can think of that’s better for the role?

TNT Officially Picks Up ‘Southland’

Several media outlets are confirming that TNT has indeed picked up cancelled NBC drama ‘Southland’. The show will begin airing against The Jay Leno Show on January 12th at 10pm

The drama series, starring Ben McKenzie and Michael Cudlitz was in limbo after it was cancelled prior to the start of its second season. This led to John Wells (E.R), the executive producer of the show to shop the remaining 6 completed episodes to other networks.

Scott Foley Moves To ‘Cougar Town’

Someone more age appropriate is heading to Courteney Cox’s neighbourhood – Scott Foley (The Unit, Felicity, Scrubs).

It really doesn’t take much investigative work to figure out how this happened… Foley was Sean, Elliott’s bf on Scrubs. The creator of Scrubs is Bill Lawrence. The Co-creator of Cougar Town is…….Bill Lawrence. And for those noobs who don’t already know, Lawrence is real-life married to Cougar Town and Scrubs actress, Christa Miller.

A good casting? I think so. Foley does comedy well and is the right amount of goofy for Cougar Town. Good times….

American Dad Renewed

America loves Stan Smith……or at least FOX does. (OR they have to get the most out of Seth MacFarlane’s reported $100million contract).

The show, now airing its fifth season, has done well for the network on FOX’s Animation Domination Sunday’s averaging around a 3.5 rating this season. Let’s put that in perspective. It’s outrates Dollhouse, Brothers, Bones, Lie To Me, Fringe, So You Think You Can Dance, Glee and Til Death. It’s number 5 for FOX (minus Idol & Sports) so this really comes as no surprise.

The show is produced by 20th Century FOX TV and stars Seth and Rachael MacFarlane.
