CBS has decided that the Jay Mohr starring vehicle just doesn’t have the ratings to deserve another season
The show was performing at well under the network average, pulling a dismal 1.9 (18-49) rating and under 7 million viewers – making it one of CBS’ poorest performers.
I think that you should feel lucky that the show lasted this long…

CBS has canceled Ghost Whisperer. Did I see that coming? Nope.
Now Fridays are a grey area in the world of network television. Some nets (FOX, ABC, NBC) seem to have given up on Fridays completely. This is not the case with CBS.
Ghost Whisperer averaged a 1.7 (18-49) rating last season, slightly down vs. last season. While this isn’t perfect, it was still the highest rated show on Friday nights.

It looks like Sheldon’s perfected mind control – The Big Bang Theory has been renewed for a fourth season!
The show – laugh track and all – will return in Fall 2010 with at least a 22 episode second season, CBS has confirmed. Although, I probably should’ve just remembered that they actually renewed it for two seasons last year!
The show has been CBS’ best performer this season, averaging a top 5 worthy 5.5 (18-49) rating so far this season and just over 15 million viewers. Even the reruns do better than the rest of CBS’ schedule!

Although this show performed relatively well in the post How I Met Your Mother timeslot, it still had not proven itself worthy of renewal.
The show moved to the post- New Adventures of Old Christine timeslot when Rules of Engagement returned.
The Jenna Elfman vehicle has averaged under a 2.0 18-49 rating and just over 7 million viewers. Rules of Engagement – which replaced AoP has held onto the key demo (18-49) much more convincingly, and even grew in viewers from its premiere to the third week.

Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) and friends will see a sixth season – and is staying in its 8pm Monday timeslot.
The show has – like every year – grown into the season, as more people switch off from the likes of House and never even switched on to NBC’s Monday line up.
The show – now in its sixth season – has averaged over 9.3 million viewers this season and a solid 3.6 A18-49 rating.
The big question is: Will we get to meet the Mother and how will Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) take it?

The show - starring Kathryn Morris – is a fan favourite, but didn’t have a chance of being renewed.
It is already in syndication, the ratings have fallen to just an average 2.0 (18-49) rating and there are a whole host of shows lined up to replace it. That show has now been confirmed as…..CSI: Miami.
Just believe that you were lucky enough to get this final season.

We all love Julia-Louis Dreyfus. CBS obviously does too otherwise this show never would’ve made it to syndication. I (and CBS, obv) just couldn’t see the upside of keeping it around anymore.
The ratings were worse than Gary Unmarried (which couldn’t have been easy), averaging under 7 million viewers and just a 1.8 (18-49) rating, under the network average. Goodbye Christine.

It was a hotly anticipated night last night, with American Idol’s final three singers looking for a place in next weeks finale winning for FOX.
The American Idol results show was the #1 show for the night (as usual), averaging just over 19 million viewers and a 6.6 (18-49) rating, down slightly vs. last week. At 9.30, another solid ep of Glee kept FOX at the top of the pile, averaging a 4.8 (18-49) rating and 11.5 million viewers.
NBC went with 2 hours of The Biggest Loser to begin their night, averaging a solid 3.1 rating and 8.1 million viewers – not too bad against solid competition. At 10, Parenthood posted a 2.6 rating and 6.2 million viewers – up slightly vs. last week.
ABC again saw a poor Dancing with the Stars results show at 8pm, averaging just a 2.5 rating and 13 million viewers at 8pm. Lost fared a bit better but still hit season lows at 9, pulling a 4.1 rating and 10.4 million viewers leading into a new V, which was down slightly vs. last week to a 2.3 rating.
Over on CBS, the usual lineup of NCIS (3.2, 15.6 million viewers), NCIS: LA (3.1, 15.1 million viewers) and The Good Wife (2.3, 12.2 million viewers) had a quiet night and took 3rd place.
The CW went with 90210 (0.8, 1.6 million viewers) and a Life UneXpected rerun (0.4 , 1.0 million viewers) to hold onto last place.

News from the CW today is that they have decided to cancel one of their revival projects, Melrose.
The show struggled to gain traction since it was picked up, averaging just a 0.5 (18-49) rating and just over 1 million viewers.
This was despite the crazy stunt casting that was undertaken including former cast members Heather Locklear and Daphne Zuniga.
Will ya miss it?

Miami Medical was really DOA. It never gained any momentum but then again what did CBS expect – they shoved it into a poor Friday night slot.
The show averaged a poor 1.2 (18-49) rating and just under 6 million viewers during its relatively short run.
Disappointed?
