The upcoming Smallville movie on The CW has been given an extra special title.
The movie – which was originally meant to be 2 separate episodes – was put together as a movie event last month because it made sense to make them into an ‘event’. They were originally called ‘Society’ and ‘Legends’ but were changed to simply ‘Absolute Justice’.
As I wrote earlier this month, it will feature the likes of Dr. Fate, Stargirl, Hawkman and i’m guessing, the others that have already appeared in the previous Justice League themed episodes.
It is scheduled to air on Jan 29, 2010.

The reality show following the Jackson family will premiere Dec. 13 on A&E with back-to-back hourlong episodes airing from 9 p.m. EST.
The show is focusing on Jackie, Tito, Marlon and Jermaine as they are preparing to go back on tour and how they are still affected by their brothers death 4 months ago.
The network has so far only ordered 6 episodes but as always with A&E, if the ratings are good enough there could be more (if it’s anything like Jon & Kate + 8 there could be a couple of thousand!).
Thus far it is unknown whether Michael’s children will take any part although there have been reports that they won’t.

Walsh will be re-entering Seattle Grace Hospital when she returns to Grey’s Anatomy for a super secret, super special batch of crossover episodes slated to air in January.
Apparently the crossover will centre around Addison and Mark, who summons the Private Practitioner to seattle to perform surgery on a patient who then needs a follow-up which will spill onto sister show, Private Practice.
Addison & Mark together again….what will happen? And how will this affect Marks relationship with Lexie?
Find out in January!

According to THR.com, CBS has cut the number of episodes ordered of its Friday night drama, Numb3rs
The show, now in its sixth season has had its episode order cut from 22 to 16, which does not bode well for renewal. It already has enough episodes for syndication and CBS has a proven hit (by Friday standards) on standbye for when it finishes – Flashpoint.
Numb3rs, which stars David Krumholtz and Rob Morrow has averaged around a 1.8 (18-49) rating so far this season and approx. 8 million viewers, #1 in its timeslot.
I can see the same happening to Cold Case very soon….
UPDATE: Apparently #1 (A18-49) network comedy The Big Bang Theory and #1 scripted show (in viewers) NCIS have been extended to 24 eps, as has How I Met Your Mother, NCIS: LA, CSI: Miami and Two and a Half Men with Criminal Minds, CSI: NY, The Good Wife, CSI, and The Mentalist, all having 1 extra ep ordered.

Several media outlets are confirming that TNT has indeed picked up cancelled NBC drama ‘Southland’. The show will begin airing against The Jay Leno Show on January 12th at 10pm
The drama series, starring Ben McKenzie and Michael Cudlitz was in limbo after it was cancelled prior to the start of its second season. This led to John Wells (E.R), the executive producer of the show to shop the remaining 6 completed episodes to other networks.
TNT is, of course a Time Warner network and Southland is a WB produced show so a deal was likely to go ahead. The series will be shown in its entirety on TNT, starting with the original 7 episodes that aired on NBC and then showing the 6 brand new episodes that are in the can. TNT is expected to begin airing them after Christmas.
via Press Release:
“This is a great win for fans of SOUTHLAND and a perfect opportunity to introduce the series to new viewers,” said Steve Koonin, president of Turner Entertainment Networks. “It’s also another outstanding example of how TNT has established itself as the go-to place for the best dramas on television.”
“We are extremely pleased that TNT has acquired all 13 episodes of SOUTHLAND, giving devoted fans the opportunity to watch a show that they passionately support,” said Peter Roth, president of Warner Bros. Television.
“We’re delighted that TNT has stepped forward to pick up SOUTHLAND. We are all extremely proud of the show,” Wells said.

According to THR.com, Trauma has been booked to play out 3 more episodes and will soon finish production on the 13th, it’s lastepisodes and float off to pastures unknown.
As for “Trauma,” the big-budget action medical drama from UMS has been in limbo after a weak start behind “Heroes.” It got a glimpse of hope this week when, against CBS repeats, it showed a small ratings uptick, prompting the network to book the series for three more weeks.
The series now will finish production on its 13-episode order before winding down.

Given the recent going ons at Cyprus-Rhodes, who wouldn’t want to know when the second half of Greek’s third season is going to air?
The show will begin airing original episodes from January 25, 2010! In an unprecedented move, it will also air at 10pm. In a network first, ABC family will have 3 hours of original programming on a Monday night, with The Secret Life of an American Teenager at 8, Make it or Break It at 9 and Greek at 10!
But first of all don’t forget, we still have the midseason finale to look forward to this Monday! And given the dramz that went down last Monday, it’s defo a don’t miss!

To view the latest What’s Next To Be Cancelled #6, Click Here
So, it’s Monday again and time to look at what’s transpired in the world of television renewals and cancellations.
In an update from last week, Community, Parks and Recreation and Mercy were given back 9 pickups by NBC. The Vampire Diaries was given a full season and Melrose were given an extra 5 episodes. What does this say about the chance of a the others? Find out below.
So we’ll again start with Three Rivers. My prediction was wrong. It lived to see another day… I can’t really see how much longer CBS are willing to put up with these numbers, especially seeing CSI and The Mentalist reruns out-rate it last week. I haven’t yet seen the numbers from last night but I predict that they’ll be lower than last week.
My Prediction: I’m puzzled. Although with November sweeps coming up I believe cancellation is imminent.
Eastwick – Last week ABC released a statement that they’re happy with Eastwick and will continue showing it and I believed them, to an extent. I believe that they’re happy with the content and creative direction that the show is going but there isn’t a chance in hell that I believe that they’re happy with the numbers. I will concede that this show isn’t going to get cancelled before Christmas but will not be picked up for a back 9. Judging by last weeks ratings which were steady with the week before at a (1.7 18-49), there’s no way that advertisers are happy with the performance.
My Prediction: End after 13 episodes.
The Forgotton - I was slightly surprised that this show actually bounced back slightly from last weeks ratings low and posted a 2.0 A18-49 rating. I know that NBC’s comedies Parks and Recreation and Community were picked up with similar numbers last week but still. This isn’t NBC, it’s ABC. They expect more from their shows and aren’t just trying to make the best of a bad situation.
My Prediction: Gone after 13 Eps
Fringe - Unfortunately Fringe has made it into the main list this week. This isn’t because it’s a bad show or it’s numbers are at Three Rivers levels but because it’s down so much from last season. The problem is the shows timeslot. It’s clear to see that FOX went with counter-programming when finding this show a slot. They’ve put it against two of the most successful shows of the last decade in CSI and Grey’s Anatomy along with demo powerhouse The Office & 30 Rock. They could’ve had a better response if they put something like Glee or So You Think You Can Dance in this slot.
My Prediction: Full 22 and who knows? I can’t imagine it’s a cheap show so it needs to get to at least a 2.5 for next year consideration.
The Others -
- Eastwick - Stayed the same this week. Their unlucky number is 13
- Hank - Pulled a season low 1.5 rating this week and really hasn’t got a chance of a back 9 pickup.
- Trauma - Although it wasn’t mentioned when P&R, Community and Mercy got picked it, the lack of a mention said more than if it was…13 Episodes. ‘Nuff Said.
- Dollhouse – Pulled a 0.8 rating and 2.2 million viewers this week. Don’t get too attached. 13 and out.
- Brothers - a 0.8 again this week, no rerun on Sunday. Possibly run until the end of the season.
- Law and Order – Say goodbye after 20 prosperous seasons.
- Gary Unmarried/ New Adventures of Old Christine – Similar to last season. Possible 2010 pickup.
- Heroes - A 2.5 isn’t enough to save this expensive show. Gone after 18.
UPDATE: Melrose Place encores have just been pulled from Wednesday Nights and are to be replace by The Vampire Diaries encores – sound move.
What do you think’s next to go? Sound off below!

“Southland” is close to being picked up by cable net and WB corporate sibling, TNT.
Earlier this week in an interview, Executive Producer John Wells told various media outlets that there were two interested parties that were in talks with the studio, Warner Bros. One of those were Warner’s corporate sibling TNT
Although a deal has not yet been finalized, it now seems that the cop drama will appear on our screens.
Various websites have been complaining that this deal is happening, having not been able to save their own show in the past such as Arrested Development, Moonlight and others. The two situations aren’t the same though, as Southland has 6 episodes in the can ready to air and i’m guessing that TNT are getting them at a discounted rate. I’m just happy I won’t have to buy the dvd to see the remaining episodes….

A number of sources are confirming that first year shows Community and Mercy and second year show Parks and Recreation have been given back 9 orders taking their episode total to 22 this season.
Comedies Parks and Recreation and Community have not been performing as well as expected but have still been picked up for a full 22 episodes. This is despite just averaging a 2.0 rating and around 5 million viewers. Mercy has also performed poorly, averaging just a 2.0 rating and 7.2 million viewers.
Is NBC just making the best from a bad situation?
