Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) and friends will see a sixth season – and is staying in its 8pm Monday timeslot.
The show has – like every year – grown into the season, as more people switch off from the likes of House and never even switched on to NBC’s Monday line up.
The show – now in its sixth season – has averaged over 9.3 million viewers this season and a solid 3.6 A18-49 rating.
The big question is: Will we get to meet the Mother and how will Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) take it?
This year has seen a shift for the long running series. Always considered to be an underdog for renewal, How I Met Your Mother has been renewed early on the back of an excellent performance in the Monday 8/7c timeslot.

Normally this would be a no brainer: the show consistently wins the Monday 10/9c timeslot. However, with Castle strengthening week-to-week and the Miami version of this franchise dwindling, I can’t see it last past next season.
Luckily for some, the show has strong enough figures and high enough syndication rates that it will definitely be back next season. (Here’s where the CBS press release enters my inbox telling me it’s canceled)
The show is averaging a 3.5 18-49 rating in originals and just over 13 million viewers. CBS will be concerned about retention from The Big Bang Theory though which may cause a timeslot shift.
Conan O’Brien’s letter to the world sent ”Tonight Show” numbers soaring last night as viewers seemed to stand by their man. He’s definitely pushing back…
Last nights (Tuesdays) Tonight Show pulled a 1.7 (18-49) rating – a gain of more than 40 percent from Monday’s 1.2. The show also made light work of Lettermans “The Late Show” – almost doubling the demo rating against the show that has been consistently beating it the last few months.

Here’s possibly the 200th Chuck promo of the season.
Not that i’m complaining. The Chuck season 3 premiere is on Jan 10 @ 9pm/8c (two-hour special) and returns to its regular Monday @ 8pm/ 7c the following day.
On a night with most networks in reruns, it was CBS which took the ratings crown. My best guess is that all of the broadcast networks were beaten out by the Giants/Redskins game on ESPN last night.
CBS won the night with reruns of How I Met Your Mother (1.8), Accidentally on Purpose (1.7), Two and a Half Men (3.1) and the nights highest rated show, The Big Bang Theory (3.3). CSI: Miami was 10pm’s #1 show with a 2.4 (18-49) rating, beating an original of The Jay Leno Show.
NBC was second for the night with 2 hours of The Sing Off, which averaged a solid 2.3 (18-49) rating. At 10, Leno was beaten by a rerun of CSI: Miami – posting just a 1.6 (18-49) rating.
FOX took third place with reruns of House (1.6) and Lie To Me (1.3) beating out ABC, which went with a rerun of I Want a Dog For Christmas, Charlie Brown (1.8), a new Find My Family (1.2, season lows) and a Castle rerun (1.0).
The CW was last with reruns of One Tree Hill (0.3) and Gossip Girl (0.3).

The Futon Clinic is reporting that TNT has acquired the off-network rights to the CW thriller:
Repeats of the series will air weekdays at 10:00 AM ET beginning with the pilot episode on Monday, January 4. Subsequent installments will follow in their original broadcast order as follows:
Obviously EW’s Michael Ausiello thinks he was the one that called this but honestly who couldn’t see this coming?
Above is the first released picture next Mondays The Big Bang Theory where (gulp) Sheldon hooks up with Leonards Mom (Beverly)!
This all came about when Christine Baranski (Cybill, The Good Wife) guested last season and there were sparks between her and Sheldon, who are very similar when it comes to their ideas about sex.
All i’m suprised about is how extreme Penny (Kaley Cuoco)’s reaction is!
Plus, it’s perfect timing. The show hit series highs in last nights ratings and with this in the future it’s popularity is sure to rise!

At 10, reruns of CSI: Miami on CBS (2.5 18-49 rating) and Castle on ABC (1.9 18-49 rating) beat out a new episode of The Jay Leno Show (1.3 rating).
